ROLE
Art Direction, Webdesign, 3D Modelling

Affecting over 200 million people across the globe, the parasitic disease Schistosomiasis is second only to Malaria in terms of its impact on many countries in the developing world. However, awareness for the disease(and the circumstances in which it flourishes) is surprisingly low.

Task

Devise and execute a digital/social campaign to raise awareness for the plight of those living with Schistosomiasis while highlighting Merck’s ongoing efforts to help eradicate the disease’s many contributing factors in affected regions

Idea

To raise awareness for Schistosomiasis (and the conditions in which it thrives),we devise an attention-grabbing campaign concept which markets the diseases an upcoming Hollywood horror film. Using a menacing combination of tension, suspense and little bit of danger - we make it crystal clear that there’s something dangerous lurking below the surface of the water.

Excecution

To promote the fictitious horror film across a variety social networks, we create a range of campaign materials which can be used to spread the “Something in the water” message to as many people as possible. With a fake film trailer on YouTube and Facebook, we also create a range of static images and animated GIF files to promote the feature on Instagram, Tumblr and other popular image-sharing networks. All formats link users to a one-page campaign microsite, which explains how easily Schistosomiasis can be contracted by those living in affected regions.
